About Me

Based in Zurich, Switzerland – Roy Ranen is an Israeli classical pianist. Focused on intelligent and honest interpretation, as well as high quality of sound production, Roy pursues a transdisciplinary career – combining solo performance, chamber music, and teaching.

Roy has been awarded several prestigious prizes, such as the 1st prize in the Landolt competition in Zurich, 2nd prize in the Kiwanis chamber music prize, additionally, he is a laureate of the Duttweiler-Hug competition as well. Roy performed on stages across the world: including Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Lithuania, Türkiye, Israel, etc. Furthermore, he is a laureate of numerous scholarships such as the America-Israel foundation, Zfunot Tarbut foundation, and others.

Roy received his early tutelage from Dr. Inna Rubin at the RMC in Israel. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance from the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music under the guidance of Prof. Emanuel Krasovsky. Roy obtained further solo piano and chamber music training from world renowned professors such as: Murray Perahia, Natalia Trull, Dina Yoffe, Jerome Lowenthal, Gilbert Kalish, Jerome Pernoo, Peter Frankl, and many others.

Currently, Roy is a Burkhalter Stiftung laureate at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste in Switzerland. There, he is studying towards a Master’s degree in Piano Performance – Konzert with Prof. Eckart Heiligers.
